Faux Finishes
Faux Finishing techniques have been utilized
to distress, age and transform surfaces and objects, and to simulate
materials such as stone, marble and wood. We are now witnessing
a tremendous resurgence of enthusiasm for these ancient styles,
as well as the development of many modern techniques in the art
of Faux Finishing.
From the Middle Ages to eighteenth-century France;
from the ancient civilizations of Athens and Pompeii, to the medieval
frescoes of Italy, interiors and exteriors have been decorated with
paint. We use these illusions to transform the ordinary and common-place
into the unique and the sophisticated.
In the hands of a qualified artist, Faux Finishing
brings together many different mediums with a multitude of artistic
skills to create the perfect illusion.
